AUST Students Visit Inmates of Dubai Correctional Establishment

The department of community service of Ajman University of Science & Technology organized a visit to the women section of the General Department of Punitive & Correctional Establishments in Al Awir, Dubai. AUST students spent a whole day with female inmate and their children and toured the different facilities there.

AUST delegation included five female students from the college of engineering who were accompanied by Ms. Noor Shaghouri, in-charge of community service. The students presented the inmates with gifts and chatted amicably with them and tried to lift up their spirit and encourage them to reconcile with themselves and the society.

The visit also included a tour around the different departments during which the students were introduced to the daily work of each department, and to the activities and services provided to inmates.

The participating students were very satisfied with the experience and thanked the community service department for organizing such event and for allowing them to reach out to other less fortunate members of the society.
