Ajman University Marks 5th Emirati Women’s Day

As the UAE marks the fifth Emirati Women’s Day on August 28, Ajman University (AU) shared its message to celebrate the auspicious occasion.

Ajman University Chancellor Dr. Karim Seghir, said Emirati women have been able to competently assume high positions in various fields.

“Today, we stand in respect for the great strides made by our wise leadership in laying policies and programmes on women’s empowerment.”

The decision of the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to allocate 50% of the seats of the National Federal Council for women clearly indicates the leadership passion to empower women, he added.

“This trust and support help women here play a prominent role in shaping the present and the future of the nation.”

UAE women continue to pursue their journey of success, with honour, hope and determination, he underlined.

“AU female cadres are proudly performing their duties in an efficient and diligent way.”

Ajman University, as a national institution, is so keen to attract national academic and administrative staff, Dr Seghir said, while holding a special meeting with AU female cadres to congratulate them on the occasion.

The Emirati Women’s Day was initiated by the prudent leadership in 2015 to recognize women's role in the comprehensive development of the country locally and worldwide.

The theme of this year’s, ‘Women, Icons of Tolerance’, is meant to highlight and promote the values of tolerance, which is a national priority.

The theme was set by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation.
