AU Students Contribute 150 Charity Boxes to Low-Income Workers

Ajman University (AU) students, as part of their social responsibility, have contributed 150 charity boxed, stuffed with hygiene items, to low-income workers.

The kind gesture, assumed by the Office of Community Engagement, AU, is in support to the Radisson Hotel Group Hotel humane initiative: “Box Appeal” whereby similar boxes were collected from other partners and contributed to over 2,000 workers of Dubai Municipality.

Up to 1,000 charity boxes are to be collected under the same campaign in January 2020. These are to be delivered to the Emirates Red Crescent to distribute similar hygiene items to indigent workers.

The four-partite drive, which saw the participation of 30 AU students, is aimed to raise awareness among the workers on the importance of hygiene, and supported them with essential items.

The boxes collected included T-shirts, caps, disposable razors, shaving cream, deodorants, toothpaste, toothbrushes, talcum powder, small hand towel, combs, antibacterial soap, and shampoo.
