AU Academics Bag Rashid Bin Humaid Award for Culture and Sciences

H.H Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ajman University (AU), on February 27, 2020, honored two brilliant academics of the University.

Dr. Salah Gad, Head of Sociology Department and Associate Professor, College of Humanities and Sciences, AU, and Mr. Yassin Al Hariri, Lecturer, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, AU, were among the winners of the 36th edition of the Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Award for Culture and Sciences, GCC level.

Dr. Salah Gad earned the top spot in social studies for his research: "Problem-based learning in social service education and a proposed interactive, educational, community-based laboratory for problem-based learning."

As for Lecturer Yassin Al Hariri, he won the first position in applied scientific research and pure science (health and medicine) for his research: "self-medication, a need or habit?

The research was applied to UAE university students in cooperation with Ms. Sundos Qasim, a Lecturer with the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, AU. Both Mr. Yassin Al-Hariri and Mrs. Sundos Qasim are AU distinguished graduates.

The honored Ajman University academics were among 33 winners His Highness has awarded in recognition of their efforts to enrich the Arab culture, research and scientific studies.

Ajman University is proud that many of its researchers have been honored in this annual forum which witnesses elite groups of scientists, researchers and thinkers.

This award reflects the aspiring minds of Emirati nationals and residents, and highlights the aspiration of Gulf youth to gain more knowledge and lift up their nation through scientific research, knowledge development, and culture.
