Students Demonstrate their Research Expertise at Ajman University Student’s Research Day

The 4th Annual Ajman University (AU) Students Research Day was successfully organized on June 6, 2021 and it amply demonstrated why AU students are some of the most talented group of youngsters in the country. A total of 116 winners were announced for 22 pathbreaking research projects across various streams including Business, Law, Humanities, Engineering & IT, Architecture, Pharmacy & Health Sciences, and Dentistry.

The winning students’ research topics were focussed on current and emerging topics of strategic importance across various fields. In the Management stream for instance, the projects that stood out for their high relevance to current industry challenges included the impact of covid-19 on real estate industry and the efficacy of advertising food brands on Instagram.

The Engineering stream projects focussed on medicine recycling and a smart parking system. An interesting research project in the Humanities stream focussed on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on family relations.

In the Pharmacy & Health Sciences stream, the AU students conducted a study on gastroesophageal reflux among patients in the UAE. In another research project, students conducted a nationwide survey on final year pharmacy students’ knowledge of black box warning, a term to denote risks of serious side effects associated with a medicine.

In the interior Design & Architecture stream, students delved into the future of research and therapy centers against the backdrop of the pandemic.

“The AU Research Day was a clear demonstration of the innate talent of each of our participating students and their ability to apply their knowledge in resolving complex challenges that face the society today across various fields. I am extremely proud of the efforts of all the students who participated in the Research Day. I would like to congratulate the winning students, their faculty and all the staff who made this event possible,” said AU Chancellor, Dr. Karim Seghir.
