Ajman University Collaborates with Hyundai Motor Company to Launch Mobile Food Bank for Underprivileged

Ajman University, in association with Hyundai Motor Company Africa and Middle East and Al Ihsan Charity, has launched the ‘Mobility for Food Bank Initiative’ to deliver food packages to underprivileged communities in UAE. The initiative is a continuous campaign that will begin in the month of Ramadan.

It aims to reach 250 unprivileged local and immigrant beneficiaries in rural areas in Ajman, including Manama, Masfout, and Old City and is especially targeted at widows, orphans, labourers and the unemployed.

Ajman University will be a strategic partner in the campaign, in which 25 of our enterprising students will participate as volunteers and help in packaging the boxes inside the University Hall.

They will also assist in delivering the packages to the underprivileged families. Hyundai Motor Company will donate the contents of food boxes as well as provide mobility by way of a fleet of Hyundai STARIA Vans, which will carry the volunteers & the packages.

"Ajman University is committed to supporting the underprivileged and advancing sustainability through concerted efforts across a range of initiatives. said Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University. He added, "We are proud of this collaboration, as it proves how we are able to inculcate a sense of social responsibility among our bright and enterprising students. Congratulations to everyone involved and especially to our student volunteers, for making it happen."

Juma Al Majid Establishment, the general distributor of Hyundai Motor in the UAE is also a partner in this campaign. Juma Al Majid CEO Mr. Suleiman Al Zaben spoke about the role of mobility in the charity activities, saying, "The campaign we are launching during this ceremony meets Hyundai's sustainable development goals on several levels. By using our Hyundai mobility solutions, we will help deliver special food aid packages to people in remote areas."
