Ajman University Student Wins First Place at the “Asian University Cup in Classic Powerlifting”

Ajman University showcased an exceptional performance at the "Asian Cup Powerlifting Competition," held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah and the President of Sharjah University. The event organized by the University of Sharjah in collaboration with the UAE Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, saw athletes from 48 universities representing 11 countries across Asia, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Iran, Jordan, Syria, Pakistan, India, and Kyrgyzstan.  

Ajman University clinched several medals, highlighted by the stellar performance of student Mohamed Fouda. He secured two gold medals: one in the 74-kilogram weight category for squat, with an impressive 230-kilogram Deadlift, and another in weightlifting, a total of 577.5 kilograms. Moreover, Fouda claimed the third-place title in the open weight category, placing him at the competition's forefront.

It's worth noting that Ajman University secured the tenth position among the 48 universities competing in the tournament, emphasizing its prominent presence.

Mohamed Fouda expressed his gratitude, stating, “I am deeply grateful to Ajman University for its unwavering support for athletes. The university has provided opportunities and resources that have greatly enhanced our athletic and personal skills. Moreover, they see sports as an integral part of student life, pushing us to achieve our goals.”
