Ajman University Dental Students Deliver Oral Health Screenings and Awareness at Al Manar School
As part of its efforts to promote experiential learning and community engagement, Ajman University’s Mobile Dental Clinic organized an awareness visit to Al Manar Private School, aiming to provide oral health screenings and raise awareness about proper dental care among students.
Students from the College of Dentistry at Ajman University participated in conducting oral health examinations to assess students’ dental conditions and identify common oral health issues. The activity was carried out under the supervision of Dr. Ruba Odeh, Assistant Professor at the College, ensuring adherence to professional standards and infection control protocols.
The dental students also delivered an awareness session on oral hygiene, where they demonstrated proper tooth-brushing techniques, emphasized the importance of maintaining oral health, and highlighted the role of preventive care in reducing dental issues and promoting healthy habits among children.
As part of the preventive component, the students applied fluoride to suitable cases to help prevent tooth decay. They also provided children with clear, simple explanations of the procedure and post-application instructions to ensure safety and effectiveness.
This visit contributed to enhancing the professional readiness of dental students by providing hands-on experience in a real-world setting, allowing them to interact directly with patients. It also supported the development of their clinical skills and strengthened their ability to engage professionally with patients.
