Ajman University Reinforces Its Research Leadership at the 9th Research Day, Showcasing Innovative Student Projects Across Diverse Disciplines

A multidisciplinary team from Ajman University has achieved a notable international accomplishment by winning the Student Choice Award at the EDVentures 2026 competition, hosted by The Education University of Hong Kong from 26 to 28 May 2026. The team was supported by the Ajman University Innovation Center and the College of Engineering and Information Technology

The team brought together students from the College of Engineering and Information Technology and the College of Business Administration. Team Spotix presented an innovative solution in the form of an add-on for educational platforms designed to support students who experience difficulty maintaining focus during lectures. The solution enhances the learning experience by summarizing academic content and presenting it in multiple formats, including visual illustrations and videos, tailored to different learning styles and needs.

EDVentures is an international platform dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship, focusing on solutions that contribute to improving the quality of education and learning outcomes. This year’s edition brought together 10 universities representing nine countries and regions: Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, China, India, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates. Out of more than 200 applications, only 19 teams were selected to advance to the final pitching stage.

The winning team included: Yousef Ibrahim – Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Jon Regala – Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, Zainab Hakki – Bachelor of Science in Management, and Asmaa Hakki – Bachelor of Science in Finance, supervised by Wessam Shehieb, Deputy Director of the Ajman University Innovation Center and an instructor at the College of Engineering and Information Technology.

This achievement reflects the strong academic output of Ajman University and the competence of its students in representing the institution at both regional and international levels. It also underscores the University’s commitment to empowering students, enhancing their presence in international platforms in the fields of innovation and research, and fostering a culture of excellence and competitiveness within a dynamic learning environment.
