In the framework of University’s quest to provide a wide array of facilities for its students, Dr. Khalid Al Khaja, Dean, College of Information, Mass Communication and Humanities opened the parking lot adjoining the Sports Complex, for the female students. This comes during a visit of the transportation facilities and services at the University.
This is to alleviate the shortage of parking faced by the female students on campus. Dr. Khalid discussed with Mr. Mustafa Otair, In-charge, University Maintenance and Services, the plausible solutions to increase the number of parking spaces allocated to the students.
The tour also included Dr. Al Khaja’s visit to the transportation department wherein he surveyed the scanning and bus controlling mechanisms. He also met with the students during their transportation on and off the campus to get their views and learn about their problems in order to provide a better service to them.
Mr. Gaddafi Hussain from the Transport Management Department informed Dr.Al Khaja about the latest developments in the students services available on campus. He explained that the University provides daily 20 trips to Dubai, 40 trips to Sharjah, 30 trips to Ajman, and 25 trips to Ras Al Khaimah during the course of the academic year to facilitate ease of transportation for students.
He also pointed out, that there is a new system to decrease and /or eliminate delays that is a new service of messaging students when the bus is closer to their pick up point.
