Thesis on Sea Transport presented by Law Student

Shiekh Mohammed Abdallah Al Nuaimi a student at the College of Law defended his Master Thesis entitled, “Delay in Delivery of Goods in the Contract of Carriage by Sea”.

In his Thesis, he mentioned that the topic of the liability of the carrier of goods by sea acquires a significant importance in the statutory and economic field especially that the delivery of goods on time is one of the most important issues in the maritime carrying of goods. That is why a research that concerns the liability of the carrier of goods by sea due to a delay in delivery is important, as well as the rules that govern such liability.

Therefore, the carrier bears liability for delay in delivery of goods if he breaches his obligation through the non-delivery of goods on the agreed date, or in exceeding the period usually taken by a normal carrier to carry and deliver the goods.

The thesis was presented to a jury consisting of Dr. Zeina Ghanem, Supervisor and President, Dr. Imad Al-Dahiat, Member and Dr. Mouayyad Al-Tawaliba, Member of the jury in the presence of the Dean of College of Law.
