On the occasion of the International Day to Combat Bullying, the Social Statistics Club in the Office of Student Life organized a remote workshop entitled The Dangers of Cyberbullying to Students. The workshop was presented by Dr. Amel Beichi, Assistant Professor at the College of Humanities and Sciences at Ajman University.

During the workshop, Dr. Amel introduced students to the phenomenon of electronic bullying targeting school and university students and its psychological effects on them and their academic achievement.

Cyberbullying is defined as intentional harm done by sending messages on e-mail, on social media, or through games and applications through the Internet.

The workshop was attended by many departments specialized in psychological and social counseling for school students in the Umm Al-Momineen Association in Ajman and some schools.

In the same context, the Excellence Club at the Office of Student Life organized a second workshop on Verbal Bullying and its psychological and social effects, presented by Dr. Rasha Mohamed Abdel Rahman, Head of the Department of Psychology at the College of Humanities and Sciences. The workshop revealed many psychological illnesses and social behaviors caused by bullying such as depression, social phobia, personality disorders and poor performance in life in general.
