Emphasizing the importance of community well-being, the Athletics Unit in the Office of Student Life at Ajman University organized a series of remote events that dealt with many important health topics aimed at maintaining the safety of the body and following a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

The first session was presented by Dr. Ashraf Nazmi, a nutritionist at the Ministry of Health and Prevention. The webinar addressed diabetes, its types, causes and methods of prevention. Guidelines for good health were shared such as regular exercise and eating healthy food.

In the second session, Dr. Ashraf Nazmi addressed heart diseases, indicating that there are many factors that could cause it. Maintaining a healthy routine through balanced food, regular exercise, controlling cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood is crucial, said Dr. Nazmi.

In the third session, entitled ‘Your Health in Your Food’, Dr. Ashraf Nazmi mentioned the wrong eating habits that cause health problems. He talked about a balanced diet, stressing the necessity of eating fresh legumes, vegetables, and fruits daily. He advised to focus on dark-colored vegetables, as they are rich in brown carbohydrates.

As for the fourth session, it was held under the title ‘Your Happiness in a Healthy Lifestyle’ presented by the Sports activities Supervisor Captain Abdul Hamid Bakour. The discussion shared the relationship of a healthy lifestyle to a happy, disease-free life. He also stressed the importance of drinking water and proper sleep.
