Ajman University Recognizes Top Employers, Graduates at Honors Assembly 2023

The evening of February 8 was marked with stars at the Ajman University (AU) campus as AU celebrated the outstanding achievements of its stakeholders and students at its annual Honors Assembly 2023. Some of UAE’s most prominent employers in the public and private sectors, along with top performing AU graduates, faculty and staff were honored at the high-octane ceremony held at AU’s Sheikh Zayed Hall.

“I am proud to acknowledge the outstanding achievements of our distinguished stakeholders, faculty, staff, and students who are the cornerstones of AU’s success. It is your drive for excellence that has helped the University achieve unprecedented milestones of growth. I would also like to take this occasion to thank Ajman University’s top private and public sector employers, and corporate partners, for reposing your faith in AU graduates and helping them prove their worth to your respective organizations,” said Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University.

The top employer awards were a key highlight of the evening at the AU Honors Assembly 2023. Corporate giants Huawei and Nestle were recognized with AU’s ‘Top Employer in Private Sector’ award, while Ajman Courts and Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, Ajman were conferred with the ‘Top Employer in Public Sector’ award.

Ajman University’s Long-Term Research Achievement Award this year was made special as 10 of AU’s faculty members were included in Stanford University’s Top Cited Scientists Database. The long-term research award was jointly awarded to the 10 faculty members for their outstanding achievements.

The student awards proved to be the proverbial icing on the cake as they showcased the extraordinary talent of AU graduates.  “It’s an honor to be awarded by the University for our efforts,” said Joud Benan Taha, a silver medalist from AU’s College of Dentistry. “Being a dentistry student is a challenging journey, but such recognition makes it all worthwhile,” she said.

“I am very grateful to AU and all my professors for helping me at every step of my journey and my parents for being a pillar of support at all times,” said Hiba Manzoor Ahmed, a bronze medalist majoring in Biomedical Engineering from AU.

Hiba added, “I believe I speak for every one of my peers being honored when I say that being awarded has just inspired me to work even harder now. It has shown that no matter how challenging things might become, by staying motivated and pushing through, you can always succeed in the end."
