Ajman University Hosts the 7th Edition of the Arab Young Media Leaders Program

Ajman University hosted the 7th edition of the Arab Young Media Leaders Program, organized by the Arab Youth Center, with the participation of over 50 young men and women from 18 Arab countries. This initiative aligns with the University’s vision to empower and support the next generation of media professionals, prepare students for their future careers, and open professional pathways rooted in creativity and knowledge.

Dr. Abdulhaq B. Al‑kattan Al‑Nuaimi, Vice Chancellor for Communication and Community Affairs at Ajman University, delivered a welcome speech in which he expressed the University’s pride in hosting such a distinguished program. He emphasized the importance of preparing a new generation of media professionals capable of leading change and creating positive impact. Dr. Hossam Salama, Dean of the College of Mass Communication, also welcomed the participants, praising this youth-focused media initiative and highlighting the value of such programs in developing media skills and fostering engagement between students and young Arab professionals. In turn, Mr. Sadeq Jarrar, Executive Director of the Arab Youth Center, gave a speech outlining the program’s goals and its role in building qualified Arab media leaders.

During the event, a series of interactive workshops were organized, focusing on smart and community-driven media practices and offering participants practical exposure to modern media tools. Dr. Safa Othman, Associate Professor at the College of Mass Communication and Coordinator of the Radio and Television Production course, delivered a lecture titled “The Role of Smart Media in Shaping Contemporary Society”, followed by a hands-on workshop on podcast and video production. Participants explored key content creation and digital storytelling skills, with an emphasis on creativity and responsibility in media development. In addition, students and alumni from Ajman University’s College of Mass Communication presented innovative media projects that enriched discussions and fostered the exchange of ideas with fellow participants from across the Arab world.
