Ajman University Mass Communication Students Gain International Experience at Temple University

A delegation of students from the Radio and TV program at Ajman University’s College of Mass Communication has concluded a distinguished academic visit to Temple University in Philadelphia, United States. Led by Dr. Safa Osman, Coordinator of the Radio & TV Program and Studio Manager at Ajman University, the initiative offered students both academic depth and international perspective, while also advancing the University’s institutional engagement with one of the most respected media schools in the United States.

During their time at Temple’s Klein College of Media and Communication, students participated in hands-on workshops focused on advertising idea creation and digital photography. The sessions culminated in a cross-cultural campaign project aimed at promoting educational opportunities in both the UAE and the U.S., allowing students to apply their creative and technical skills in a collaborative, international context.

The visit also included extensive tours of Klein College’s advanced media facilities, where students received practical training in broadcast studios. This direct exposure to industry-standard tools and workflows enriched their understanding of international media education and production practices. Beyond campus, students also visited prominent media institutions across Philadelphia, where they observed newsroom dynamics and gained real-world insight into professional studio environments.

In parallel, the students explored Philadelphia’s historical landmarks through curated cultural tours that deepened their understanding of American history and culture. These experiences served as key content components in the students’ final multimedia presentations, reinforcing the program’s applied learning objectives.

In addition to student-focused activities, the visit featured strategic meetings with Temple University leadership. Discussions with the Dean of Research and Graduate Studies explored potential collaboration in joint research projects and graduate-level academic offerings. A meeting with the Director of Career Services examined ways to align efforts around student internships, professional mentoring, and career development initiatives across both institutions.

This visit marks a meaningful milestone in Ajman University’s broader vision to internationalize its academic programs and strengthen global partnerships. The outcomes of this engagement will serve as a foundation for deeper cooperation in the areas of research, teaching, and professional development.
